We don't see eye to eye
“A horse of a different color,”
is what she called my plan.
She doesn’t see things as I do;
I doubt she really can.

She never understands me.
We don’t see eye to eye.
It’s been so long since we’ve agreed,
I don’t know why I try.

So I have found a new way
to make my point of view.
I simply tell her what she wants
before she thinks it through.

And right away she counters,
just what I want to hear.
And I just smile and say to her,
“We’ll do it your way, dear.”

The color doesn’t matter,
it could be black or white.
If I can ride the horse I want
I know I’ll be all right.
