Some things you can only say at night.

I notice how rain pools in your collarbone nook
And clings to your eyelash tips, dripping.

The world is yoked to your brow
While you furrow in thought.

Were my lips fire enough
To kiss the ice in your hands,
Or the chill in your chest?

Midnight words peck your cheeks
In trenches most dark
And I mould my world to you
As your light has shaped around me.
