A New Year’s resolution to help others.
I am resolved to be anew;
it is the piddling I can do.
I will help someone else along;
give aid to others all yearlong.

To take the spotlight off of me;
I am determined as can be.
Assist somebody else I say;
this is the pledge I pledge today.

Go to the gym, eat for your health;
check books out from library's shelf.
Abandon smokes for breath’s intake;
all this for someone else's sake.

Become a friend when friends are scant;
assert I can instead of can’t.
Lend gladness hand when need abides;
sans transportation, offer rides.

My back is supple, I admit;
new year resolve—no time for quit.
Flex lumbar region, do not doubt;
bend over backward, help folks out.
