1) Pro's and con's of 'Absolute Truth' in science and religion
Why ask questions with the intention only express the answer in terms of faith. That is what you are asking for when you search for 'Absolute Truth'. Whether it is science or religion, absolute truth requires faith. Hard fossilized faith either in the doctrine of religion or in the procedures of the scientific method can bring forth the ghosts of absolute truth, but there is always on question beyond knowing everything. When was the beginning? What caused the beginning? Both religion and science claim knowledge of that.

Of course, 'Absolute Truth' and the faith that sponsors it does have a function. It stands as a static measure of reality, morality and reason. It might require some suspension of disbelief on things, but so much good has come of it.
