The Most Chivalrous Knight

In our world grown unconvinced by light,
Showing ourselves disavowed and dead,
Here witnessed the most chivalrous Knight.

His eyes truly unashamed of sight,
No other could supersede His stead,
In our world grown unconvinced by light.

Of wonders, His disciples would write,
The lost were healed, forgiven, and fed,
Here witnessed the most chivalrous Knight.

The news of His disbelieved birthright,
Angered those who circumscribe what's said,
In our world grown unconvinced by light.

Accused, though innocent, we did indict,
A crown of thorns pressed upon His head,
Here witnessed the most chivalrous Knight.

He loves us all, without slight or spite,
On the cross, His Holy blood was shed,
In our world grown unconvinced by light,
Here witnessed the most chivalrous Knight.

Villanelle; Consists of nineteen lines and is comprised of two rhymes. The first and third lines of the first verse become the alternating final lines of the next four verses. In the last stanza, they form a couplet and become the "Closure". Finally, all the 2nd lines of each stanza rhyme with each other.
