An excerpt from a song I’m writing.
We stare at the screen
Consumed by whatever it demands we believe
“We should fight to be free”
A concept that we’ll never achieve

On misfortune we feed
Reality’s in sight but we forgot how to see
Through animosity we breed
Disregarding the notion of unity

Now we watch the world as it burns
Through a stained glass window
The haven we’ve yearned
Has left her shattered and widowed

But it’s all okay
We find our solace in pain
Breathe life into the darkness
Of our vicarious ways

We’re all dancing dead
Consumed by chemicals
Eyes blood red, skin pale
We waste away in this hell
