Aging - only a number
I'll be turning 75 this month. With every birthday card I receive, the question how did I get here? pops into my head.

Laughter and tears are interlaced throughout my life, along with remorse for some thoughtless deeds. However, one does not arrive at three quarters of a century without making mistakes which have made me stronger, kinder and more tolerant of others and life in general.

This morning, while opening another card, I posed to my sister the question I asked earlier in this essay. She replied "you're at this point as a consequence of hard work and determination." To which I added "and a bit of luck and lots of love."

Do you agree with the above statement as it pertains to your life?
