Three feet of water in the living room.
It wasn’t about the rain that was bad;
many’s the time when we would watch it pour.
One subsequent summer flood made us mad.

July rained buckets one night on our pad;
an inundation which led to much more.
It wasn’t about the rain that was bad.

Soon water levels made us very sad;
we watched in shock as it seeped ‘neath the door.
One subsequent summer flood made us mad.

Suddenly we felt as if we’d been had;
three feet of water caused us to be sore.
It wasn’t about the rain that was bad.

Six inches an hour is not a fad;
just do the math and it’s water galore.
One subsequent summer flood made us mad.

Living room swimming might be deemed as rad;
yet with each stroke you would hit carpet floor.
It wasn’t about the rain that was bad;
one subsequent summer flood made us mad.
