someone who is experiencing the internal struggle of heartbreak
The pungent smell of the ocean
The acidic taste of your lies
As I sit on the shore watching the ghosts of our past
Knowing what I know now I truly understand
That everything beautiful comes after the sand
I dive in the waters the sensation of the salt
Captivates my soul as I bask in the memory
Of my salty tears
As I am engulfed in a world that isn’t mine
I hold my breath as if I have all this time
To dive I do, to drowned I don’t
Beyond the sand is absolutely breath taking
But absolutely devastating
To those who don’t belong
I resurface and regain my composure
And recognize that this world was not meant for me
And I was not meant for you
So I make my way back to the shore before the sand
Which Is a long way back to redo the steps
that once made me whole
But to do them differently
As the years go by and the shore lessens
So will the steps beyond the sand
