Which will it be?
Can we go to heaven
just like we once were taught?
Or maybe hell awaits us.
That was the tale we bought.

Those nuns were quite explicit
back when I was in school.
The devil would possess you
if you ignore the rules.

In heaven there are angels
with harps and feathered wings.
In hell they have those fires
and other fearful things.

And once I did believe them.
Well, how was I to know?
My mind became more open
as I began to grow.

And now I have my own thoughts,
just how the system works.
I know more how the world is
with its foibles and its quirks.

You may not have to die first
to meet your final fate.
It’s right here living with you.
No, you don’t have to wait.

You may be up in heaven
right here on this green earth.
Or maybe hell has found you
and you regret your birth.

Your life is what you make it.
Yes, that my friends is true.
Do you choose hell or heaven?
It all depends on you.
