Poetic story of a relationship, meant to be an insert into a larger story.
You took me by surprise,
There’s not much to describe.
Except the way you rode in on a storm,
Lightning flashing, thunder pounding - I could’ve sworn.
I never had a chance to sit out on this dance,
Baby - you brought me there.

The stars shine brighter when they’re in your eyes,
The waves crash harder when we’re alone,
And you trust in me despite this disguise.
I never had a chance, you put me in a trance,
Baby – you brought me there.

You took me by the hand,
The nighttime be damned.
Except I lost my way in that wide-open bay,
Wind howling, rain slashing – I couldn’t stay.
I never stood a chance, this wasn’t supposed to last,
Baby – why’d you bring me there?

The stars shone brighter when they were in your eyes,
The waves crashed harder when we were alone,
But you’re racing away to the dark side as the moons rise.
We never had a chance to go the distance.
Baby – now it’s lonely here.
