Here is a first line 7 syllable and second line 8 syllable poem I wrote for the times.
What's this thing I hear called hope?
I lost it all; I want to cope.
The lighter side of despair;
If only I could lift me up,
I could cope, there is no doubt;
There wouldn't be no need to pout.

From the rest I close myself;
At times I wish that I could hide.
Wide open are my very eyes;
I got up with no surprise.
I passed the test without a fail;
I feel good now, that's for sure.

Moments of sunshine, laughter, joy;
Those were the times I thought of you.
Pictures of a boy you showed,
The scene was good; the view was great.
We'd pretend to use the mic,
Together singing songs we liked.

Like a treasure of memories,
Measures of pleasures are all good.
All your dreams are good to hold,
With good thoughts, we will make a team.
For each other, we'll be friends,
Through thick and thin, we will be there.
