For some dear friends of Irish Descent, through Prince Edward Island, Canada
Claude’s Table

Perhaps the world began at a kitchen table
That taught us all to pray before we ate,
Then later to drink coffee and play cards,
It seems the world has slowly moved on,
but down on Dock Road, a table waits for you.

Perhaps the world began at a kitchen table.
Cousin Alfred says that surface saw massive feasts
and more card games than a Vegas Blackjack felt.
It seems that our world has slowly moved on,
but down on Dock Road, that table still waits for you.

Perhaps the world began at a kitchen table
Where Jerry and Claude and the whole family
Sat and told wild tales of relatives raising hell.
It seems this world just keeps moving on,
but down on Dock Road, the table still waits for you.

Perhaps the world began at the kitchen table,
At the most popular house on Dock Road,
Where the ghosts of those gone on sit around at 3 am,
While their old cars fill the yard and line the street.
They still come to visit and remember.
On Dock Road, a place will always be set for you.
