The last sparks of a slowly dying fire illuminate...
The sparks drifted upwards towards the stars, the fire had burned low and the sparks came from the book that glowed within the flames. It would do no more harm. Travis watched the sparks rise as the fire died a slow cold death. It was not the only slow death of the night. Teresa panted against the cold creeping up her limbs. Travis stared at her. If only she could have resisted temptation. They could have lived forever together, but no, she had to read the book and end the magic before the spell was complete. So she would die and he would be eternally alone.
