just something I wrote, kind of a free verse.

There was something in the air that night, I could feel it.

It wasn’t a shiver down my spine, but a gut feeling.

I had dreamt about a feeling like this, everyone has. In a nightmare, where you end up getting eaten by a monster or a woman in a cloak.

I had my sundress on, and walked with my feet in 3 inch heels.

My short hair clung to the sides of my face, the rain hitting the top of my head like drumsticks.

I was cold, shivering from the rain; my dress was drenched and my heels were filled with pools of skywater.

The lampposts were illuminating the path and nothing else.

Every store and building was closed, so I had nowhere to go.

I hurried down the street. My heels clomped on the street, and I prayed that the world would do good for me that night.

Something told me, maybe hell, that it wouldn’t.
