Ronny saves his fellow horses in a storm
Ronny the robotic horse had one robotic leg
What happened to his other one he would never say
No one understood just how it made poor Ronny feel
Waking spastic twitchy moves he would rather use a wheel
The others laughed and would chant
Look at Ronny he cant galavant
He has no grace, he has no skill
just mechanics, oh my, boy that kills
Giggles and laughs could all be heard
But one day this all would change for good
As cold dark clouds and tempests raged
A storm a brewing
No safe covered cage
Farmer forgot to open the barn
And now couldnt come out for fear of harm
The lightning was striking so close to the herd
Poor Ronny thought of something that he had heard
He galloped off to the big orchard trees
And snapped off a branch, of course checking for bees
He raced to the middle of the large grassy field
and jammed that big branch in the ground made the mud squish and yield
With the tall branch deep into the ground
He removed his robotic leg
Giving up walking just standing on 3 legs trying not to topple down.
He reard up and placed his one leg up on top
Hoping the terror would very soon stop
He led the heard, walking with a rather tough gait
Trying to get them to where it was safe
Out over the bridge, out to the orchard
Under the trees safer from the torture
Then all the sudden a loud scary blast
Hit Ronnys leg and everyone gasped
For out in the field lay a sweet young filly
Who was frozen in terror attacked by the willys
She was to scared to run for the orchard
But Ronnys leg had saved her from the lighting that would have scorched her
A few minutes later the rain all let up
The sun peaking through and the herd began to gallop
Romping and playing in spite of the mud
Then suddenly they heard a great thud.
Poor Ronny'd forgotten he gave up his leg
So he fell over when he started to play.
The farmer came out in such a fright
he saw right away Ronny wasnt quite right
He walked in the barn calm and cool as an ice cube
He came back outside with a wheel and some metal tubes
He pieced them together and to Ronnys delight
Finally he would have it, oh what a sight
The farmer came over, good old farmer Fred
Walked up to Ronny and patted his head
"You're a smart big ol horse, I'd never have guessed, but here is something that will suit you the best. I dont think we have another amputee, so here something to help you gallop and squee. A wheel for you my dear friend and kind fellow" then he put on ronnys wheel and the other animals start to bellow
Cheer and applause, is all Ronny could hear
As the farmer put on his leggy wheel chair
Ronny romped and galloped, so full of joy, he couldnt believe he could hang with the boys.
The other animals were no longer mean, for they had learned being a loser or winner, wasnt about how you look or what you see
It's in your heart, your soul, and your brain. Its thinking of others even when you're afraid.
From that day on Ronny was quite happy.
Please forgive me, I know this story is sappy
But we must remember as people we are, all very similar weather from near or from far.
We all have choices that allow us to show, if we are good, actions allow us to know
Always remember what you say and do, will become what others think of when they think of you
So always be kind, thoughtful and sweet
Just like Ol Ronny, he was pretty neat.
