Family members weigh in on the walls.
Tis rainbow walls my living room
red green and yellow orange and blue
a hint of purple here and there
to make it unforgettable

Aunt Jill O’Reilly cottons green
says it is best she’s ever eyed
transports her back to Irish hills
outside of Dublin Ireland

Uncle Jim thinks orange is flashy
big pumpkin carrot carotene
he puts size twelve feet on the stool
and sighs with eyes closed for a spell

Yellow grabs ahold of cousin
Janice Wows upon worn love seat
cranes long neck like a flamingo
smiles broadly teeth night beacon

Blue enraptures Grandma Agnes
she so taken by the coolness
slight rosacea on her forehead
placid like the Mona Lisa

Red energizes niece Lorraine
she coos like a soft wind whisper
shakes her long blonde hair abruptly
giggles like her feet have freedom

Dad inhales then praises purple
asserts it is the only one
puffs on cherry pipe tobacco
announces that the rain is near
