Contest entry for Humorous Poetry contest
We planted a garden, so green and so fair.
I’d visions of grandeur-none would compare!
We plowed and we tilled, then laid off each row.
We planted each seed. Now, let’s watch it grow!
But to our dismay, the seeds didn’t sprout.
So we bought new seedlings and set them all out.
A beautiful picture, our garden so green!
We watched and we waited; soon we could preen!
But, what we would find, and would cause us to rant
Was leafless stems. Not one single plant!

Damned geese!
