The Fly

We’re all still awake. It’s because of the door. Someone left it open last night. A fly got in. First it buzzed in the kitchen during supper.

“Where’s the fly swatter?” Dad bellowed.

We shooed it away. It disappeared for a time.

Then right at the climax of the movie, ‘The Fly’, a real one appeared.

“Whatever! Didn’t you find that fly swatter yet?”

“I thought it was in the laundry room.” Mom knows where everything is.

But we’re watching a good movie. The real Fly can wait.

Finally bedtime. Nothing like falling asleep in your nice comfy bed.

“GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

BUZZZZZZZ.

“Where Is That Fly Swatter?”

“Turn off the light for pity sake!”

Crash, bang. Yelp. Meow! Ouch! Growl…….

BUZZZZZZ. BUZZZZZZZZ.

“Get back to bed, all of yeah! It’s 2 AM!”

BUZZZZZZ. BUZZZZZZZZZ.

“I found the fly swatter, where’s The Fly?”

BUZZZZZZ. BUZZZZZZZZZ.

“Oh the HECK with you all, who wants ice cream?”

So this is why we are all at the table, eating hot fudge sundaes at 3AM. And it seems that hot fudge sundaes are good fly catchers. Judy finally caught the elusive bugger in hers.
