It's over....
there was nothing left and so
a scream came from a place
so deep within me
it took three lifetimes
to erupt
shatter my eyes
...then subside

When you left me lying in the road
My guts ripped and spilling from me and
The bloodthirsty birds, circling
Didn't you know I was dying and
Needed you to breathe life back into me
I was screaming for you
It took three lifetimes
Didn't you hear me
Were you wondering how long I'd wait
Did you experience any of it
My pacing back and forth became
The stubborn dragging of bloodied stumps
It was powerful
My impatience turned into raging incoherence
Did you see me
Did you at least peek through the curtains
To watch the bloody, babbling fool
Wear herself down to shreds and bone

...didn't you hear me scream
