For a contest but a very interesting poem about true happiness
As I walked this earth searching,
Looking for something I can hang my hat on.
I find that not much is as it seems.
Nothing is as it appears.

I asked all the right questions,
But there doesn’t seem to be the direct answer.
Its not black and white…. But there are grey areas.
And that doesn’t help me at all.

All I want is the truth, and nothing but.
Seems that is avoiding me despite my efforts.
I search the world, talking to people,
Realizing I am getting nowhere.

Then a mental lightning hit me,
I was searching in the wrong places.
I realized I needed to look into myself.
Deep and serious soul searching.

It was there I found the meaning of life.
And my true self, and who I am.
I found that I had to be true to myself,
And all else would fall into place.

After looking deep inside myself,
I found the person I truly meant to be.
I can see clearly now that it wasn’t hidden.
I was simply looking in the wrong places.

After I searched in the most delicate and complicated place
Deep within myself, and then the truth was unmasked.
Now, I can rest easy knowing the heart of the matter.
Truth be told, I am truly content now with the truth.
