Island in a Fantasy World

All my life, I've lived on
an island in a fantasy world,
thirsting for a pirate ship
to burgle me aboard,
raise a flag, black as obsidian,
and set sight to the open sea.
I'd say goodbye to chopping wood,
swatting flys and mosquitos,
and looking for a paint mixture
to improve my mood.
I'd become one of the strange
that break out of the haze,
put fear into men,
then sail away with their riches.
That's what I hope for.
That's what I dream about at night.
