My Councellor inspired me to believe I could end my addiction. Her words became this poem.
“You can do this”
She said with conviction
With more belief than I had
Can I overcome this addiction?

Be the Little Red Engine
Who believed he could climb
Struggling up that hill
As I stared up at mine

A mountain yet to conquer
One step at a time
Searching for strength
Yet it's belief I need to find

“It's not the task,” she said
"But the attitude you instil"
"If you don't think you can"
"Then for sure, you never will"

I think I can...I know I can
And if he can, so can I
We all have our struggles
It's our demons we must decry

I believe I can...I know I will
With support and the tools at hand
No longer can there be excuses
This time I make my stand
