HUMOROUS POETRY CONTEST
coffee we got years ago
french vanilla the best you know
My friend loves sugar there’s no doubt
Dropped it in then let a whisper out

What’s wrong I say with concern to her
I dropped sugar in my coffee was her word
Don’t you usually do that anyway
but not with the paper she had to say.

Rolling down the road “I’m taking this light”
I was laughing in stitches with delight
Concerned she stopped to see
if I was ok most certainly

Then the traffic swiftly passed by
You made me lose my lead she laughingly cried
We arrived home still giggling and laughing
The neighbors questioned if our ability was sapping

We’re not drunk we said soberly
it’s no lie surely you can see
As my friend slid down the side of the car
sliding on ice she didn’t go far

We didn’t move for quite a while
We laughed some more and they smiled
