Planting bulbs in autumn. A metaphor.
Planting hope
Dry bulbs buried
Amid the dead and dying remnants
Of this contentious year
Pulling tendrils of
Weeds like hate
That throttled peace
Dark dirt crumbles
Darkening my nails
And raising my spirit
Spring will come
