Two sister's surprise early Christmas morning
Christmas hearts tried to sleep
We couldn’t wait to see
The magic transformation
Of our house, how would it be?

We went to bed, the rooms were bare
No tree, no sparkles, nothing there
We closed our tired eyes to sleep
But waken early, soon aware

The day has come, yet it’s still dark
So down the stair we creep
We go around the creaky step
While our parents sleep

We reach the door, hold our breath
Then open it with care
Eyes shining wide with delight
No step inside we dare

Lights that shine across the room
Not there the night before
Gifts piled high around the tree
No-one ever knew we saw!
