Poem, poem
Spark of Life

An Oak Tree so strong and noble
On the mountain side stands immobile
Swaying in rhythm with the wind
Acorns, to the ground they descend
Little squirrels running all around
Burying them deep in the ground

Storage for a day yet to come
Unaware of what’s to become

Branches of lightning flash from up high
Roaring thunder rumbles in the sky
Sparking a fire not far away
Becomings of a very bad day
Fire and flames spread here and there
Thick clouds of smoke consuming the air

Ashes and sorrows are left in the wake
All that remains is the heartache

Blankets of darkness in a world that is still
Soothing rain soon begins to spill
From a ground of bleakness and death
A sprout breaks free - It’s Nature’s next breath
Higher and stronger this sprout is to grow
The next chapter in Life’s eternal show
