an old poem I just pulled out of mothballs
If I can't feel your heart beat you're too far away
I long to lay my hand on your warm smooth skin
Feel the strong rhythm that makes you live
To close my eyes and drift to sleep to that rhythm

I lay here tonight fantasizing about the night
The night that I will finally get what I desire
The scene is set we lay together our bodies close
So close it is even hard for the air to pass through our embrace

Never feeling so safe and warm as I will with you
I lay my head upon your chest and my hand over your heart
The beating from your chest is all I can hear
It's all I want to hear
The rhythm of your heart puts me to sleep

Till that day you give me what I so much desire
I'll drift to sleep every night to the thought of you
