disillusionment
death be not
murky midnight
for ghosts that is
as we are ghosts
branded, born
drops in water-
ghosts of our
former selves

embers of ashes
of the untruths
crumbling steadily
sands of the hourglass
like water on ash
harden our hearts
leaving the ghost
confused in
fields of powder
