Ask why a man only loves that which brings him ruin and I shall ask you a question. Why does the moth seek the flame? Because in its misguided attempt to know it misjudges and perhaps more importantly misunderstands. The moth with can only see it as heat, light, warmth. Unable to see that it is more than the some of its parts and through that inability finds only ruin. So it is with men. We so often see without understanding. The things we see are more than ideas. The are more than the sum of their parts. The smallest piece of our world is a million million ideas and requires at least a passing understanding of all to understand any. And so in our own misguided way we attempt to begin to understand our world and all that lies both within and without it.
