I'll keep it to myself
I traced fingers, from your neck to your thighs.
back,
and forth.
The afternoon light was soft. Diffused.
Like my thoughts.
Like my feelings.
I ached to somehow cement this moment
to the dark parts of my heart.
the way I'd make you into pictures...
I should have asked if I could.
even when I knew I'd leave that day and not come back.
knew you didn't want me the ways I wanted you
I still wanted this part. To keep it. So I could pull it out later when the loneliness gets bigger.
