A little boy has a special dream.
Bobby was a serious little cowboy
He sometimes wore his gloves to bed
He watched the westerns that ran on TV
And named his hobby horse Mr. Ed.

He called his baby brother 'partner'
He would tip his hat to his sister, Miss Sue
And his father was always the great Sheriff Dan
But his mother was the lovely cook, Darling Rubylou.

Bobby would hook his thumbs in his pant's belt
He would not leave the house without his favorite cowboy hat
In his pocket he would check for his lucky charm
It was a junior deputy sheriff's badge from Cousin Matt.

Bobby's parents took the family to a rodeo
Bobby sat and watched the cowboys' entry parade
One cowboy later gave Bobby an autographed picture
And a bandana that could be washed and never fade.
