It was a rainy evening in March and I was sitting by the fireplace, daydreaming away while reading a book. I didn't really have much going on in my life, other than reading books and sitting by the fireplace. I found it calming how peaceful it can be to read a book while it is raining outside.
The only thing i was missing was having someone to share these nights with. It took me a lot of courage to leave the hell i was in a few months ago, but i am happy to know that nobody from the village knows where i live. Until then i will stay put in this little hut i found when hiking before leaving everyone behind.
I heard a knock at the front door.
".......",I said nothing and waited a little longer to see if the person behind the front door was gone.
I waited for 5 minutes before checking who was behind the door until...
"................", I moved quietly behind the front door and looked through the peephole. There was somebody looking down, soaking wet but didn't say anything. The moment i looked away to see if anyone was at the windows but nobody was there. As soon as i looked back in to the peephole the figure was gone. There were no footprints nor any noise that could alarm me about the figure moving away.
The rain wasn't pouring that heavy that i couldn't hear the figure moving away from the door.'Where did the figure go? Why couldn't I hear any movement?', i thought to myself before moving away from the door.
'I could've sworn they couldn't have moved away from the door without making any noise, alarming me in the process', i again thought to myself and staring to doubt if the person even was real. Oh well......
I moved over to the couch, feeling more tired and earlier. I laid down on the couch and felt myself thrift away in to the darkness, while listening to the fire cackle. It's somewhat reassuring me that nobody could be here with me. unless.......
