This is my first positive poem, so I hope it makes someone's day a bit better :)
When you feel like you have nothing to live for,
Remember this:
Celebrate anything.
No matter how insignificant it might seem to you,
Cherish and acknowledge its existence.

A celebrated gift can be anything.
Having 5 functional senses,
Having a fresh pair of clothes,
Having thoughts and emotions.

Or, a gift can be something you don't have.
Not having a mouth sore,
Not having any allergies,
Not having a lost child.

Someone's life could have changed
For the better if they had that one thing
That you have.
It could be something so simple
That you barely gave it any thought.
A pair of shoes to protect your feet,
A book to strengthen your mind,
A safe neighborhood to let you sleep in peace,
A father to show you love,
A fair choice.

It's ok to take advantage of your gifts
Because not everyone gets them.
Sometimes we forget
To make the best out of what we have
And what we don't have,
And that's ok.
I will always be here to remind you.

You can think of me as a gift,
For having acknowledged you.
Your existence itself
Is something I celebrate.
You should too.
