It's not quite the same anymore...

Hazy summer evening fades to night;
The day's light doesn't leave a warming glow;
No longer does it sow delight so sweet,
that lasts and fills a heart with hope and thrills.

The summer is no longer what it was;
It has not stood a chance like summers past,
to bring us fast and full season delight,
to make up for a year too filled with fear.

I miss you, won’t you please come back next time?
If you were here in person, I'd feel fine.
