I scrambled to the outskirts...
Arms flailing,
legs pumping,
feet bouncing,
hair flying,
I jogged,
dashed,
sprinted,
water lapping,
nipping at my heels,
I scrambled
to the outskirts,
to the unknown,
to a town glued
along the highway,
my heart protesting,
my tears streaming,
my mind sinking
as anchor was set
in a new home.
