celebrating the years gone by
The moonlight was working its magic
those twenty-one years ago
as we were united into one.

Fireworks exploded with frenzy
in celebration of the Fourth
and in our minds, our love.

Now each year we commemorate
a near-week long salute to our unity,
this Canadian and this Texan.

Canada Day through Independence Day
just a few days of festivity to honor
a love that has withstood the tests of time.
