Flash Fiction
Ring!

“Is everything ready to go?”

“Yeah, I think so.”

“Well we better check we don’t want to find out at the last minute that something’s wrong.”

“Good idea.”

“OK. You have all the balloons?”

“Balloons?”

“Balloons, balloons, don’t tell me you forgot the balloons!”

“I didn’t forget the balloons. I didn’t think I was supposed to get balloons, because I didn’t think there was supposed to be any balloons.”

“Of course balloons, and of course you, because you live right up the street.”

“There are several things wrong with that statement...”

“Why do you always do that?”

“What?”

“Make those snotty remarks?”

“Snotty? What’s snotty?”

“Never mind. What’s wrong?”

“What are the balloons for, and what does my street have to do with anything?”

“Balloons because you need balloons, and your street because of Tricksy’s of course.”

“Who is Tricksy?”

“Tricksy's, the store not the person you idiot. What’s the matter with you? You walk by Tricksy's every day! How can we surprise Cindy without balloons?”

“Who’s Cindy?”

“Come on Frank this isn’t funny!!”

“Ah, who’s Frank?”
