Another underwhelming visit
“Do you really think
They were throwing ears around
In Indiana?”
I asked my daughter
As we drove past Hoosier Hill.
As usual my wise questions
Went over her earbud clad head,
As I launched into
A history lesson
About how states
Get their names and nicknames
And how Larry Bird
Was the great hope
For the green clad Celtics
As he took to the court,
Fresh from French Lick,
Indiana,
Which is nowhere
Near Hoosier Hill.
