A boy doesn’t want to go back to school after the long summer break
I don’t want to go back
To that place down the road.
Where people are mean,
As mean as a toad.

I want to stay here, Mum,
Right by your side,
Go shopping with you, Mum
And play on the slide.

I like it at home,
It’s warm and it’s cozy
Away from those bullies,
Annoying and nosy

I’ll help you, I promise,
Do chores, walk the dog.
I’ll babysit Thomas,
Or go for a jog.

Don’t make me return,
I’m not one of the crowd.
I’ll stay home and learn
I’ll make you feel proud.
