She was a very odd girl
Her eyes were like her father’s,
a brilliant shade of blue.
Unfortunately for Lily though
she had his mustache, too.

And when it came to color,
her skin was splotchy white.
Her arms and legs were long on her.
No, nothing fit quite right.

She was a very odd girl,
not shaped with any grace.
Her head was much too big, you see,
but with a happy face.

She showed a toothy smile,
unfortunately so.
She only had two teeth on top
and maybe four below.

Her hair was much too curly,
a vibrant shade of green.
Likely not the kind of hair
that you have ever seen.

She showed her dad the drawing.
His face showed his surprise.
She’d drawn a picture of herself.
He smiled and said, “Nice eyes.”

Well, she is just a small child,
not more than three years old,
and anything she did and said
to him was solid gold.
