Life Never Lived

Distorted lights, steam engine fog
Waiting for the smoke to clear
Frightening destination
Reassuring tide
night into day
momentum
whistling
train

Tracks
white dress
waves on sand
Dancing with time
perception lingers
stolen fragments remain
twirling as if in a dream
the life never lived is over
