Firefly

even after light fades
the wings of hope flutter
this gossamer weighing nothing
alighting upon my bones that hold spare flesh
my eye sockets that gaze in wonder
even after death
hope glimmers
even as night gathers
beauty blossoms
and with the memory of wings
your lantern
lights my face
