Carry On

“You there, stop. Stop this instant.” The sergeant yelled at a camo-clad foot soldier.

“Who, me?” soldier asked once he stopped marching.

“Yes, you. Where are you going?” Sergeant leaned out of the jeep.

“Well, now, I think I’ll go east to the sun then west to the moon, but first I’ll stop north of sanity and then go south to hell.” Soldier took off his camo cap, wiped his dripping brow, then glanced at his superior officer.

“Very well, carry on, soldier.”
