When like souls meet, the gods smile...
Sometimes, whether by fate
or happenstance or sublime luck
we intersect with serendipity.
The gods smile and cross their divine fingers
and hope we have the sense to see
(and appreciate)
what they have set before us.

I crashed into that intersection
and in a whirl of mere seconds
my world changed forever.
Perhaps, as we have since mentioned,
we'd met before or several befores--
the knowing was clear within
mere moments.

Different worlds collided.
The result was intrinsic rainbows,
an absolute joy, a sense
of weird completeness. An other half
I could never have imagined. The magic
of knowing, of getting and being gotten
clear through. Odd as it is, it simply is.

When you meet a random someone
who inspires you to be your best you,
in a way absolutely different than
a husband perhaps. Takes nothing away--
in fact, multiplies everything all around.
He thinks me teacher;
I am merely a fortunate student.

We each walk a multiplicity of paths--
I am so grateful ours crossed
and that we meander in parallel.
