a poem about longing, trepidation, with a pessimistic yet positive twist.

The boat glides along the river,
the lady adorned in Rioja-crimson dress
waits peacefully for him.

Will he return with his symbols of affection, lust and,
daringly she ponders...Love?

A lamp guides her way, the soul of the path,
dreams of an otter approaching the shore,
a whale singing quietly yet trumpeting his yearning.

With this man from the Carpathians, or near abouts..
she will be Free.
To live, to Love,
to dwell in ever more existence of peace,
Light
and Hope.
