A poem reflecting on the conflictions and emotions of depression and self harm-
I am the nothing inside you at night
You shout and you scream when I turn off the light
No face I am
No eyes to see
But I see the sorrow for your sorrow is me
I am the one you think of at night
The one you despair
The one you fight
But I never go, once I am there
I am the remains, reclaims of despair
Your pills and talks try to take me away
Do listen to the voices in your head they say
But you cry with me at night because you can't forget
I am the one you once hit
The song of the knife, the tears in your eyes
One cut but numbed by your silent cries
Don't be weak, be strong
Help is not suffice
I am the nothing you hide and spite
The nothing inside you you can no longer fight
Give in you try, but try must you might
Take the wings of your burdens, don't t take the flight
The scars on your arms are healed but not gone
Not scars from others but the scars of your own
We each wear a face with a smile each day,
But the fact that you were all has something to say
