Poem about failed New Year's Resolution
New Year's Vow

I must confess
My all is in
To break my vow
Would be a sin

Unlike last year
And years before
This New Year's Vow
Won't see the door

My resolution
As you'll see
Will bring a more
productive me

No coffee breaks
To make brain run
No sneaky naps
With work undone

In office land
I'll be a star
The brighter me
Will soon go far

When weekends come
With no remorse
I'll read more books
I'll stay the course

To write more poems
Will be no chore
Short stories, Novels
Maybe more

I'll be less tired
And it's no lie
I might even
Exercise

The clock's struck twelve
The New Year's here
But Wait! I have
A dreadful fear

My jig is up
I've lost again
My vow was get
To bed by ten!
