Received some fresh Georgia pecans from my cousins, and I was ecstatic about them.
Remember those Georgia pecans I kept asking folks to send? Well, at least two of them sent me Georgia pecans, and I MUST tell you I have thoroughly enjoyed them. Thank you, Arnold Wright. Thank you, Carrie Barnett AND Wanda Sparks Walker!

Carrie Barnett also sent me the phone number and the name of the woman that had them, and I reached out to her. She also sent me some. I tried the Nust.com place, and as they did last year, they sent me old pecans like I would not know the difference. Both times they sent previous year pecans.
If you have ever had a fresh pecan, old pecans just will not do! So Georgia cousins, this Georgia/Maryland girl appreciates the kindness. Miss Shirley has me down for fresh pecans next year, and I am ecstatic.

Maybe, just maybe, if I get the pecans early enough and the other ingredients, I will bake a few Georgia-style cakes, including an Aunt Florence-style fruit cake! INSPIRE ME! LOL

I am ecstatic. It reminded me of going out in the woods of Georgia, and picking as many blackberries as we wanted, then bringing them back home and making blackberry jelly, jam, cobbler, and yes, mom canning some of them for the winter. We did the same thing with blueberries. Never ever purchased a blackberry or a blueberry or grapes, or peaches, or pears, or sugar cane, etc. We either grew them or went out in the woods and gathered them.

Some of my best memories -- picking and selling the red, black, and white grapes, peaches, and pears to have spending money. I definitely did not mind climbing those trees and shaking them for the pecans, either.

All of this because of some fresh Georgia pecans and some loving, caring cousins who hooked me up with some in 2022!

THANKS a million. Who knows, I might just ship some more wine down there -- some of the good kind!

Peace and blessings to you and yours always.

NOTE: This week, the death of two cousins (Arthur Lee Miller and Rub Floyd Brown) is hard on us, but we still have each other, and we will get through this together. Just remember who we are and whose we are, and we will find peace and comfort in their passing. I love Y'all.
