Haunted by regret,
He keeps me at arm’s length,
While begging me to stay.
Drenched in the scent of nervous attraction,
He’s holding back, the desire to disrobe us both;
I see it in his eyes, fear and longing.
I feel it in every move, begun and abruptly ceased.
His body is denied, the nakedness of mine,
He’s afraid – Us? Him? Or me?
